Overview

Entrelp is a platform that connects freelancers with occasional job opportunities in the South of France. The goal of this project was to improve the freelancer experience and make it easier for users to find jobs that match their skills and availability.

Working in a team during my UX/UI bootcamp at Ironhack, we collaborated with Entrelp’s CEO to identify key pain points in the job search process and design a more intuitive mobile experience for freelancers.

In the rapidly growing gig economy of France, the demand for flexible job opportunities among young adults has never been higher. Entrelp, an emerging occasional jobs platform, aims to meet this demand by connecting skilled freelancers with reputable employers, especially in the South of France. As part of a dynamic team during my UX/UI bootcamp at Ironhack, I collaborated with Entrelp's CEO and my teammates to reimagine and enhance the freelancer user experience.

Freelancers using Entrelp struggled to quickly find jobs that matched their skills, availability, and location. Job listings often lacked clarity, and users were concerned about payment reliability.

The challenge was to design a more transparent and efficient job discovery experience that would help freelancers confidently find and apply for jobs.

The challenge was to develop a solution that made it easier for users, to find and secure occasional jobs that match their skills and schedules. Amidst a competitive landscape, we aimed to distinguish Entrelp by focusing on quality, trustworthiness, and user-friendliness to retain freelancers while ensuring a seamless and rewarding experience.

To understand better the target and the problem a secondary research was conducted. In a competitive landscape that includes platforms like Student Pop, Extracadabra, and StaffMe, Entrelp strategically positions itself as a go-to platform for employers and freelancers in the South of France.

Our initial phase involved rigorous secondary research including user interviews and surveys, competitive analysis, and stakeholder interviews to capture the full spectrum of the user experience. We uncovered several pain points faced by freelancers, such as difficulty in filtering jobs to match their specific skills and schedules, concerns over payment reliability, and ambiguity in job descriptions.

Gathering the data from our Empathize phase we got our persona: Sophie a 22-year-old Parisian student navigating the challenges of balancing her academic pursuits with her financial needs. She represented the core of our target user group, providing a focused lens through which we addressed our design challenges.
